TWAIN MS follows their PE Teacher’s Lead

Twain Middle School boys and girls start the 1 mile Course that winds around the school’s property. Lead PE Teacher Berni Flynn, herself an accomplished distance runner, embraced the RUN A MILE concept from its beginnings. As a high school cross country and Distance Coach for Track Teams, Coach Flynn knows how important it is to be enthusiastic with Middle School students. Long gone is the willingness of the eager 3rd and 4th graders. The toughest part is keeping it fun. Running the mile can be competitive yet it has to be downplayed. Many other students just will not engage you if they perceive being under the spotlight.
